Today is the day Liverpool fans have been waiting many years for. It’s 30 years since their last league triumph, and before this season they had never won the Premier League. But this evening, when Jordan Henderson performs his trademark shimmy before hoisting the trophy into the air, they will be able to put all those years of agony and misfortune behind them. The trophy presentation will take place after Liverpool’s game against Chelsea, which gets underway at 8:15pm.It’s thought that the presentation will take place at around 10:30pm.And what a moment it promises to be.It’s a shame that no fans will be present to watch, but Liverpool have done a fine job of getting Anfield ready for the occasion.p1edprlp5p8k71nn9lod1g2r1he59.jpgp1edprm1pk19si1qbe1bf218ie191eb.jpgLiverpool’s name has already been engraved on the trophy.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp can’t wait for the moment, saying in a press conference on Tuesday: “Tomorrow is different, it’s a little bit like Christmas: if you already know you’re getting a specific present before you have it there’s still some excitement! And we are very excited about that!

“I’ve never touched a Premier League trophy before for obvious reasons, that will be special.

“I’m delighted the boys have this moment because they deserve it more than anybody else, they work incredibly hard and deal with so many setbacks in the last few years.

“We won the title this season but prepared it the last two or three years so it was a really long run-up to this moment.

“It will be 100 per cent emotional again but how emotional? I don’t know, that’s how it is with emotions—you have to wait until you feel them.”

Meanwhile, club captain Henderson has urged supporters to stay at home and enjoy the affair on television instead of going to Anfield.

“I promise you: we will feel you with us when we lift that trophy, even though you’re not at Anfield in person,” he wrote in his programme notes, per Liverpool’s official website.

“We are lifting it for you – you’ve driven us to achieving this dream. But this club’s values are about taking care of each other and that means supporting us from home and in safe environments.”
