Jude Bellingham was officially unveiled as a Borussia Dortmund player on Monday.

The highly-rated Englishman is the latest talent from the country to seal a move to the German top-flight, following in the footsteps of soon-to-be club colleague Jadon Sancho.

Bellingham is revered as one of the finest young players in world football right now after his breakthrough season with Birmingham City in 2019/20.

In his 40 appearances in the Championship, the versatile midfielder scored four goals and assisted another three.

It's no surprise that the eyes of Europe's elite were fixated on the Stourbridge-born teenager, with Dortmund having to cough up a sizeable transfer fee to fend off the advances of Manchester United.

Bellingham with Dortmund

There's still some debate over the initial fee paid for Bellingham, but it's believed the deal could rise to around £30m.

But that's far from the most a club has paid for a player aged 18 or under.

Below, we've provided the 30 most expensive players ever within that age group, with Bellingham currently 11th on the list.

Amazingly, Real Madrid have spent €30m or more on three Brazilian players aged 18 or under in the past two years.

It's also hard to believe the Inter Milan were coughing up a fee of €14m for a teenage goalkeeper before the turn of the century - madness.

The list also puts into perspective just how expensive Rooney's move to United back in the summer of 2004 was.

Sixteen years on and the transfer is still the fourth most paid for a player aged 18 or under. Thankfully for the Red Devils, he was worth every single penny!
