Only the Champions League can save Barcelona from what has been a problematic season for the club.
They relinquished the La Liga title in miserable fashion to rivals Real Madrid, handing over the trophy on the same night they lost at home to Osasuna.
So their attentions will turn to Europe, where Quique Setien must somehow inspire his group of underperforming stars to glory.
Even Lionel Messi has doubts about that, though, admitting that they won’t get past Napoli in the round of 16 unless changes are made.
"I said a while ago continuing as we were it would be hard to win the Champions League and it's not been enough to win La Liga," he said, per Sport.
"And if we don't react and make changes we will not beat Napoli."
It was quite a startling statement from Barcelona’s captain. And one that needed to be made.
The level of disappointment in Barcelona’s season can be summed up by Sport’s player ratings for the season.

You could say that’s harsh on Messi, who finished the season with most goals and assists in La Liga.
But even so, it’s hard to argue with much else.
Messi was tasked with carrying his teammates for the entire campaign.
