Liverpool fans had been waiting 30 years to see their team lift the Premier League trophy.

Jordan Henderson and his teammates - along with Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff - finally got their hands on English football’s biggest prize on Wednesday night.

But, sadly, supporters were not allowed inside Anfield to celebrate with their players.

Some of the players’ families were allowed into the stadium and there were celebratory scenes with a lights show and music.

But it wasn't quite as special as what a packed Anfield would have been like.

Imagine 54,000 fans chanting ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ at the top of their lungs after Henderson hoisted the trophy in the air.

Perhaps we’ll see similar scenes at a trophy parade later down the line.

As a reminder of just how spine-tingling a rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ can be on a particularly big occasion, here’s Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger’s priceless reaction to hearing Liverpool fans’ famous anthem before the 2019 Champions League final in Madrid.

The two legendary managers both fell silent as Liverpool fans blasted out YNWA before kick-off at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Mourinho then said: "This is more beautiful than what we can say.”

Wenger added: “That’s unique!”

Indeed, there’s no anthem in football quite like it.

The sooner football fans are back inside stadiums - when it is safe to do so, of course - the better.

Let’s hope every Liverpool fan who has waited so long for this moment will have the opportunity to celebrate properly on another day in the not-too-distant future.
