It's claimed that Celtic's first offer was rejected but that talks have progressed to one around personal terms should the two clubs be able to strike a deal.
The Greek international would certainly be a strong addition to Neil Lennon's side as his search for a goalkeeper goes on.
Stoppers including Fraser Forster, Joe Hart and Freddie Woodman have all been linked, however if reports are to be believe it seems that Barkas seems to be the most advanced option in terms of negotiations.

However, given his credentials at international level you'd think that he'd be a solid addition.
With preliminary talks taking place over personal terms, it's a deal that could have legs.
If that's the case we should hear something over the coming days.
But if the two sides are too far apart in terms of a transfer fee then it could be a case of going back to the drawing board for the Bhoys as they look to sign a stopper before the start of the new season.
