Dutch international wonderkid Vurnon Anita is reportedly being chased by Manchester United and Tottenham, with both clubs keen to snag the star this summer.

According to talkSPORT, the Ajax defender is rated at £8 million, and would be a bargain for both Manchester United and Tottenham, who are looking at spending up big in the summer transfer period.

At the tender age of 22, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sees the youngster as perfect to continue rebuilding the United squad, as Ferguson creates a legacy of young talented players for when he retires.

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp is keen to sign the defender for Tottenham, with Ledley King and Jonathon Woodgate both suffering long term injuries. Manchester United have also had their fair share of defender’s injuries, and both see Anita as a good addition who won’t have the same injury problems as Redkanpp and Ferguson’s stalwarts.

The youngster is also reportedly attractive to both Manchester United and Tottenham because of his versatility, and ability to play in the midfield either centrally or on the wing, or even as a centre back.
