Yesterday afternoon it was announced that Mike Tyson's return to boxing has been officially booked for September 2020, and he will be sharing the ring with Roy Jones Jr.Safe to say 2020 really has been a mad year.By now we’ve all seen the viral clips of Tyson training where he still looks an absolute animal, but what about his confirmed opponent Roy Jones Jr?ESPN Ringside Twitter account shared a video of Jones Jr training and he’s looking pretty sharp, but there are other fans who just aren't convinced by him.Jones Jr has also already posted to social media, with a post on Instagram coupled with the caption: “I am happy that this fight between me and Mike Tyson will happen! I was always ready and will be ready this time as well. I want all my fans to support me and tune in. It’s gonna be epic.”Tyson is three years older than Jones Jr at the young age of 54, the perfect age to resurrect a boxing career...The fight is to take place in LA, with the fighters expected to wear headgear and 16oz gloves.

The California State Athletic Commission confirmed the bout and also stated: "In this match, the referee will have the authority to stop the fight if it strays outside the boundaries of a competitive boxing exhibition."

Whilst Tyson hasn’t fought since 2005, Jones Jr won fights in 2017 and 2018, with the latest of the two bouts being his 75th professional fight, which he stated would be his last and that he had no ambition to fight again.

However, in an interview with sports.ru, as per Sky Sports, Jones Jr stated: “For the sake of Mike Tyson, I agree to make an exception.

"For me, this is an opportunity that I cannot refuse. Of all those who wanted to go into the ring with him, he chose me. And since he did that, how can I say no?"

The exhibition bout is scheduled for September 12 and will certainly be an interesting watch at the very least with bookies having the fighters at tied odds.
