Manchester United's Andreas Pereira has bizarrely called out Liverpool duo Virgil van Dijk and James Milner.

The Brazilian midfielder has been a bit-part player for United this season and has now fallen hopelessly out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In his 39 appearances in all competitions, he's only contributed to six goals and it's no surprise that United supporters are keen for him to be sold this summer.

But that doesn't mean Pereira can't make a last-ditch attempt to get back into Red Devils fans' good books before he leaves the club.

The 24-year-old was interviewed on Desimpedidos YouTube channel and was asked to name the most arrogant footballer he had come up against in the Premier League.

Pereira replied: "I don't really like that guy, Milner. And to tell you the truth, I don't like that guy, the defender, Van Dijk. [He is] Marrento, man. Even the way he plays is kind of arrogant."

'Marrento' is a Portuguese saying, which translates to 'cocky' or arrogant.'

We're going to wager that both Milner and Van Dijk couldn't care less what Pereira thinks, they'll be happy shining their Premier League winner medals.

The United man is also not the first Premier League player to call out Van Dijk on Desimpedidos this season.

Van Dijk celebrates

Everton forward Richarlison was interviewed back in June and said: "People talk a lot about him [Van Dijk], yes he is a great defender but I've already dribbled past him.

"He was chosen as one of the top three in the world as he had an excellent season. But yes, for me there are better defenders."

Van Dijk really does have Liverpool's rivals on strings.

The Dutch defensive colossus has established himself as the best defender in the world over the past two years, a position which inevitably attracts jealous criticism.

But just like he does with most opposing attackers, Van Dijk will just brush the disapprovals of Pereira and Richarlison aside.
