A decade of dominance, that's the objective for Celtic.

After wrapping up their ninth-straight league title last term the Bhoys are determined to make in 10-in-a-row with a landmark achievement this term.

While they may be favourites on paper, that doesn't mean that it'll be an easy achievement.

Rangers FC have aspirations of upsetting the party.

Steven Gerrard's side may have fallen away late on last term, but they'll be determined to put up a more stubborn title challenge this time around to stop their rivals from achieving 10 successive league titles.

As far as Celtic are concerned, if they're to stave off the challenge then there's no room for complacency.

That means that strengthening in the summer transfer market is a must.

While several positions are being targeted, the addition of a striker will surely be a boost.

Odsonne Edouard has been linked with a move away, but regardless of what happens with his future it seems that a fresh face is being targeted.

Several names are on the list of players on the shortlist, one of which is Ivan Toney.

According to The Sun, talks are underway with Peterborough United over a move for the striker.

It's claimed that Brentford have already had an offer accepted for the 24-year-old, but that the Bhoys are keen to strike a deal of their own.

Toney scored an impressive 26 goals for the Posh this season, and so it's not a surprise to see him attracting the attention of Britain's top clubs.

Alongside Celtic and Brentford, Rangers, Watford, West Brom and Leeds United have all been linked with a move.

However much will depend on who is willing to offer the most as Peterborough United look to make the maximum return on their prized asset.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

Ivan Toney is bound to be hot property this summer.

After a stunning time with Peterborough United it's only right that he's afforded the chance to challenge himself as a higher level.

While a move to the Premier League or Championship will be appealing, a switch to Celtic could be a great move.

To have the opportunity to be part of a history-making side is an opportunity that he's unlikely to get elsewhere.

Toney will undoubtedly score goals for fun in Scotland, and that is exactly what Celtic are after.

Whether they can strike a deal with the Posh is up for debate, as we know that the League One side will be determined to make as much money from the deal as possible.

But if Celtic can complete a deal then there's no limit to what Toney could achieve at Parkhead.
