The 2019/20 Premier League season is over almost 12 months after it began.

We now have just seven weeks to wait until it all kicks off again.

The players will certainly need those seven weeks to recover.

Yes, they may have had three months off during the height of the coronavirus pandemic but that wasn’t exactly a relaxing holiday.

They will only be allowed a couple of weeks off now before they’re all ordered to return for pre-season training. But some players may need a little longer than two weeks. Well, 15 players in particular.

That’s because, after the 38 matches, 15 Premier League stars played all 3.420 minutes. While the majority of them are goalkeepers, seven outfield players managed the incredible feat.

Let’s take a look at who:

Virgil van Dijk | Liverpool

The best defender in the world was a colossal once again for Liverpool as they cruised to the Premier League title. The Reds had the best defence in the league, conceding just 33 goals.

He also chipped in with five goals.

Harry Maguire | Manchester United

The Manchester United captain has experienced a few dodgy moments this season but he helped steer the Red Devils into third place. United only conceded three more goals than Liverpool.

Declan Rice | West Ham

The 21-year-old had the most impressive season of his young career at West Ham, picking up the club’s Player of the Year award. West Ham had a tough season, finishing 16th and weren’t safe until the final weeks of the campaign.

Does a big-money move beckon for the defensive midfielder this summer?

James Tarkowski | Burnley

Burnley probably haven’t been given the credit they deserve this season. Sean Dyche’s side finished 10th, just two points behind Arsenal and five adrift of Tottenham and Wolves.

Tarkowski has been rock solid at the heart of their defence.

James Ward-Prowse | Southampton

Ward-Prowse inherited the captain’s armband this season for Ralph Hassenhuttl’s side and helped lift them from a relegation battle to an 11th-placed finish.

The midfielder has one of the best deliveries in the league and his passing range is incredible.

Conor Coady | Wolves

Wolves may have superstars like Ruben Neves, Adams Traore and Raul Jimenez but skipper Coady is equally - if not more - important.

George Baldock | Sheffield United

Sheffield United have had an incredible first season back in the Premier League with Chris Wilder’s side finishing ninth. Baldock played an important role as right wing-back in the Blades’ unique system.

David de Gea | Manchester United

After his numerous mistakes, De Gea can perhaps consider himself fortunate to have played every minute. That might not be the case next season if Dean Henderson returns to Old Trafford.

Jordan Pickford | Everton

See above.

Pickford hasn’t had a good season and Carlo Ancelotti must be considering replacing him in the summer.

Rui Patricio | Wolves

Wolves will be slightly disappointed to eventually finish seventh this season after looking as though they would compete for a Champions League berth.

Patricio - along with ever-present Coady - ensured their defence was stubborn with only 40 goals conceded.

Kasper Schmeichel | Leicester

The season finished very disappointingly for Leicester and Schmeichel as they threw away a Champions League place. Schmeichel’s mistake in the 98th-minute gifted Jesse Lingard the chance to seal a 2-0 win for Manchester United on the final day.

Nick Pope | Burnley

Pope has had a fantastic campaign in Burnley’s goal, keeping 15 clean sheets - just one fewer than Golden Glove winner Ederson.

Mathew Ryan | Brighton

Brighton eventually finished 15th, seven points clear of the relegation zone after picking up five points in their final three matches. Ryan conceded 54 goals, which was actually the same as fourth-placed Chelsea.

Martin Dubravka | Newcastle

Dubravka is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and claimed Newcastle’s player of the season award for his displays. Steve Bruce’s side finished in 13th.

Ben Foster | Watford

Foster couldn’t save Watford from relegation as the Hornets finished 19th. 37-year-old Foster had to bend down to collect the ball out of the back of his net on 64 occasions.
