The 2019/20 Premier League season will always be remembered.Of course, the coronavirus pandemic is a major reason behind that with the campaign being suspended for three months before it returned behind closed doors.It will also be remembered for Liverpool breaking all sorts of records on their way to achieving 99 points and winning their first ever Premier League title.And who can forget the controversial introduction of VAR?But it may also be looked back on with fondness thanks to the standard of goals that were scoring during 2019/20.Jamie Vardy may have scored the most with 23 to his name, taking home the Golden Boot. But who scored the best?
Well, Match of the Day conducted their annual 'Goal of the Season' competition allowing fans to vote for their 10 nominated goals.Legendary Premier League strikers Alan Shearer and Ian Wright then chose the winner.
The 10 nominees were:
Harry Wilson vs Manchester City
Mohamed Salah vs Newcastle United
Matt Longstaff vs Manchester United
Kevin De Bruyne vs Newcastle United
Son Heung-Min vs Burnley
Alireza Jahanbakhsh vs Chelsea
Anthony Martial vs Watford
Fabinho vs Crystal Palace
Raul Jimenez vs Burnley
Kevin De Bruyne vs Norwich
The viewers narrowed it down to three with De Bruyne (vs Newcastle), Martial and Son making the cut.
But Wright and Shearer both agreed that the winner should be Son's incredible solo goal against Burnley.

After Son scored that goal, Jose Mourinho paid tribute to his player and even compared him to Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
“Even before this goal my son calls him Sonaldo, and today he was Sonaldo Nazario,” said Mourinho.
“The only thing that came to my mind was a goal where I had the honour to be sat next to Sir Bobby Robson, in 1996, and Ronaldo Nazario scored a goal against Compostela from behind the halfway line and scored a very similar goal.
“From the outside I had that feeling. I had a feeling, and the experience, not my experience but of some colleagues; I even remember speaking with Sir Alex (Ferguson) about Ji-sung Park.
“It’s probably a cultural think, that players from that part of the world are very coachable, they like to learn and are very humble.
“I met his parents yesterday, and I understood also where it comes from. The kid is fantastic and I am so happy.”
