Manchester United fans are in love with Bruno Fernandes right now and you can hardly blame them.
The Red Devils have gone 14 Premier League games unbeaten since they signed the midfielder from Sporting Lisbon and to say he's hit the ground running would be an understatement.
Fernandes became the first United player since Cristiano Ronaldo to win two consecutive Player of the Month awards and finishes the campaign with 15 league goal contributions to his name.

So, it only seemed fitting that Fernandes was the man behind the moment that secured United's place in the Champions League next season.
With Chelsea bagging a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in west London, a draw would have been enough for a top-four place, but winning against Leicester City was still vital.
Besides, United entered the final 20 minutes of the clash at the King Power Stadium with the score goalless, meaning just a single Leicester strike could have scuppered their dreams.

Nevertheless, United were given a familiar opportunity when they were awarded a penalty - a record-breaking 14th of the season - through a combination of Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan tackles.
And with Fernandes having become the club's penalty taker since arriving from Portugal, the January signing had the pressure riding on his shoulders to score past Kasper Schmeichel.
But you wouldn't have known it. Instead, Fernandes showed icy-cool nerves to execute his trademark jumping run-up and find the bottom corner by selling Schmeichel the wrong way.

However, looking nerveless and actually being nerveless are two completely different things - surely Fernandes was feeling the pressure to score the Champions League-securing penalty?
Well, no actually, because Fernandes gave a brilliant interview at full-time that not only illustrates his elite mentality, but shows him to be the exact sort of character that United historically love to attract.
"I like the pressure you know? When the keeper leaves the ball close to him, I know he's afraid. He gave me that little bit more confidence I need," the 25-year-old told the club.
"Of course they try to do these mind games, but it's better for me when they do it."

It's clear that Fernandes thrives upon these pressurising moments and it's evidenced by his impeccable record from penalties, scoring 26 in his entire career and missing just twice.
In terms of United, Fernandes has converted six out of six and what's arguably more impressive is the fact his technique has meant that goalkeepers are yet to even guess the right way.
So, not only has the Portuguese playmaker been an absolute inspiration for United since his arrival in the winter, but he stepped up to the plate in a moment that was make or break for their season.
