Drew McIntyre is the current WWE Champion. The Scottish Psychopath finally climbed the mountain at WrestleMania, as he beat Brock Lesnar to receive his coronation, 11 years after making his official debut on SmackDown.Of course, that victory came after a genuinely spectacular Royal Rumble win, in which he last eliminated Roman Reigns to punch his ticket to the Showcase of the Immortals.Since being crowned, McIntyre has been a fighting champion, defending the belt five times. He has beaten The Big Show, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Dolph Ziggler to keep hold of his title. On Monday night he again took on Ziggler, his previous tag team partner, and was victorious. The show, though, kicked off with Randy Orton issuing a challenge to the Scotsman, ahead of this month’s SummerSlam event. But it appears that Drew has his eyes on a different opponent.p1eeaktbi7l7jfk118f71mommkgi.jpgHe hosted a Twitter Q&A session before Monday’s show, inviting fans to ask him anything they wanted to know. And one fan quizzed Drew on who the most underrated wrestler in the company currently is.Drew answered, and also claimed that he would like to take on the superstar he namechecked in a proper one-on-one match. He wrote: “I assume the standard answer by now is Cesaro. I want that match.”

Amazingly, Drew and Cesaro have never had a singles match in the WWE, per Cagematch, only crossing paths in tag team matches, battle royals, or Royal Rumbles.

Cesaro, of course, has been an underutilised presence in WWE, winning just one singles title throughout his career; the United States Championship.

He is a seven-time Tag Team Champion, though, holding the RAW belt five times and the SmackDown belt twice.

He currently holds the latter championship with Shinsuke Nakamura but we think it’s about time he broke out and was given a proper chance in singles competition.

A match with Drew for the WWE Championship would be just the ticket.
