Liverpool waved goodbye to Dejan Lovren after six years of service on Monday afternoon.The World Cup finalist, who made 185 appearances and scored eight goals in the famous red jersey, signed a three-year contract to join Zenit St. Petersburg for £10.9 million.Game-time has been hard to come by for Lovren since the rise of Virgil van Dijk and he waved goodbye to Anfield having appeared in just 10 league games across the 2019/20 campaign.

But the Croatian will certainly be happy with his medal collection over the last two seasons having won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Champions League.
Lovren told the club's official website: "It was emotional from the beginning until the end. The last couple of days especially now, I was feeling happy winning the Premier League with the team.
"On the other hand, I was feeling sad I’m leaving a big, big club with so many memories in my heart which I will keep forever. But I can be proud of everything I achieved with the club.

"I came [here] like a boy at 24, 25 with hopes and dreams to achieve something big at the club. I always said to myself, ‘I need to bring something back home and bring people happiness.’
"At the end, I can say we made it together. That was a big journey for me that I will always carry forever in my heart."
There can be no denying that Lovren gave Liverpool fans some special memories, no less than the winner against Borussia Dortmund, but his time on Merseyside wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Lovren gained a reputation for being one of the most inconsistent defenders in the Premier League and dropped an infamous disasterclass during the 4-1 defeat at Tottenham in 2017.
However, we'd be lying if that was the only time that Lovren put a foot wrong at Liverpool and some fans have taken his departure as an opportunity to highlight the fact.
In fact, Twitter user @LFCRelvas compiled no less than two minutes of Lovren's worst moments at Liverpool to the 'You've Been Framed' theme tune and a sarcastic title of 'Liverpool legend?'

Defenders like Lovren have always fascinated me.
In many ways, he reminds me of David Luiz: a defender who undoubtedly has world-class talent but, for whatever reason, can hardly go more than five games without dropping a massive error.
If there was a number you could attribute to Lovren for how much ability he has - and confidence, too, I guess - then the queue of Champions League clubs trying to sign him would be sizeable.
But it's that crippling inconsistency that makes him a gamble and top clubs competing for league titles simply can't afford to have a player of that nature in their back-line during key moments.
That being said, I'll happily stick my neck out and say that Lovren was a decent signing on the whole for Liverpool and wish him the best of success in his new endeavour in Russia.
