The Premier League season has finally concluded and it's Liverpool who were crowned champions.

Quality runs right through Jurgen Klopp's side.

There's Alisson in goal, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Roberston in defence and then the likes of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and Naby Keita in midfield.

But it's Liverpool's front three who really strike fear into the opposition.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have formed an incredible attacking line and the trio are the envy of many.

But how do they compare to some of Europe's other attacking trios?

The likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and even Manchester United boast quality upfront.

Barca's front three is frightening

Sterling and Aguero combine well

Those stats certainly make for some interesting reading, don't they?

Each trio really does have strength in a certain area and all but two lead stats in at least one area.

Let's start with Liverpool. They have created more chances (169) than any of the other leading trios in Europe.

Liverpool's trio are brilliant

That has translated to the second most shots (304), behind only Juventus. But it seems Liverpool could be branded as 'wasteful'.

Okay, maybe that's a bit of a stretch. But considering they've created the most chances and taken the second-most shots, perhaps they should have scored more goals.

Instead, it's Barcelona and Bayern Munich's trio who have netted the most - 50 each.

Barca fell short in La Liga

Just behind them are Man City, whose front three have 47 goals and in fourth are Liverpool with 46.

Man United, PSG and Juventus follow them, with the fifth and joint-sixth most goals respectively.

While Barca players have scored the joint-most goals, Messi, Suarez and Griezmann can also be viewed as rather unselfish too.

Between them, they've provided 33 assists - and it's Messi with a ridiculous 21 of them.

Messi has provided so many assists

Liverpool's trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino have also shared the ball, providing 24 assists in the Premier League. Not bad.

When Europe's best forward trios are compared on stats, there really isn't much to separate them.

Liverpool, Bayern, Barcelona, Juventus, Man United, Man City and PSG have forward players that the rest of the continent envy.

PSG are exciting to watch

But, it's not all about goals and assists. Football is a team game and trophies are important.

This season alone, Liverpool have won the Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Premier League.

Barcelona, on the other hand, have a trio who score goals, but it wasn't enough for them to win La Liga this year.

Goals didn't inspire Barca to the title

We know what fans would prefer... fewer goals and more silverware. It seems Liverpool have the balance right.
