Born in Camberwell, London to Trinidadian parents, Jadon Sancho's short career has already taken him all over England and Europe.

Now at Borussia Dortmund and capped by England, the electrifying winger has very quickly become one of the most exciting talents in world football.

When he's not racking up the goals, he's picking out an assist for his teammates, contributing to a remarkable 40 goals in 2019/20.

For Sancho, he is now one of the very best in the top five leagues, something Manchester City must be reeling about after failing to tie him down before he left for German shores.

However, it may only go from bad to worse for Pep Guardiola and co. The Englishman has been linked with a move to Manchester United on a regular basis.

And it seems like a deal is close. The Guardian reported on Monday that the Red Devils are in advanced talks with Dortmund over a £90m move for Sancho, with an additional £20m in add-ons.

Whether the 20-year-old does move remains to be seen, but it's certainly difficult to argue against his asking price.

Sancho is deadly in front of goal, has an eye for a pass and can beat his man in breathtaking fashion - he is the perfect player for anyone needing to bolster their forward line.

What's more, he's English, and for a club in the Premier League, that usually provides a bit of extra tax.

You only need to look at the £80m fee Aston Villa are demanding for Jack Grealish to understand just how obscene the market has become in England.

He has also been a target for United but it's thought Sancho is their number one priority. That's hardly a surprise.

Sancho celebrates for Dortmund

His elaborate rise to stardom has been quite something, with Sancho's value increasing substantially over the last three years. Though, what in particular contributed to that?

Let's explore his stunning rise in transfer value...

Watford youth to Manchester City - £66,000

The starting place for Sancho, the nippy attacker joined the Hornets at just the age of seven. Clearly full of confidence from a young age, he told coaches of his desire to play for England when he was only 14.

Shortly after that, he moved to Man City for a price of £66,000, mandatory for a player of that age, with the potential add-ons moving the transfer to somewhere in the fee of £500,000.

Transfer to Dortmund - now worth over £4m

The forward continued to impress for City and was fast-tracked into the first-team set-up in 2017.

However, after a dispute in assurances over playing time, the Citizens failed to tie him down and he consequently left for Germany.

A reported fee of £8m was paid for his services, although Transfermarkt rated the youngster at just £4.5m in August of the same year.

First season increase - £13.5m

During his first season at Dortmund, 2017/18, Sancho played just 12 times for the senior side but there were already some fine indications of the player he's now become.

In scoring once and assisting four Bundesliga strikes, the wonderkid's value went up by £9.5m from what Transfermarkt initially rated him at. Impressive stuff.

England debut - £40.5m

In the blink of an eye, the winger was suddenly worth a seismic sum of money and after making his debut for England in October 2018, Transfermarkt valued Sancho at just over £40m.

His start to the 2018/19 campaign had been nothing short of sensational, tallying seven assists and one goal in the build-up to October's internationals.

Incredibly, he had yet to start in the Bundesliga that term but that didn't stop Gareth Southgate from calling him up. He consequently came off the bench in a 0-0 draw with Croatia.

First England start - £72m

Sancho's rise only continued as the season went on and by the middle of March, he was making his first start in a Three Lions shirt.

That came in a 5-0 thumping of the Czech Republic at Wembley Stadium. By that point, the youngster had registered 12 league assists and scored eight times.

Breaking records and TOTS - £90m

If the youngster hadn't already reached stardom, then he certainly had by the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Sancho netted 13 times in 43 games, also creating 19 goals for his teammates. In the process, he had become the youngest player to score over ten times in a season for his side as he earnt himself a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.

Further records and Man Utd links - £117m

The highest value Sancho has reached in his career to date is a whopping £117m, a tally that more than warrants the truly incredible numbers he racked up in 2019/20.

In December, he became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to score 22 goals, a record that had stood since 1968.

He went onto be linked with Man United and even scored his first career hat-trick in May. The 20-year-old, so it would seem, is only getting better.
