Juventus wrapped up their ninth-straight Serie A title recently as their dominance in Italy continued.

Adding Cristiano Ronaldo to an already talented squad always appeared to be an unfair move, and so it’s proved.

The Portuguese star has scored 31 goals in 33 league appearances for the Old Lady, an incredible return for a 35-year-old.

It’s been a little tighter at the top this season, with Juventus being pushed by Inter Milan, Atalanta and Lazio, but in the end, Maurizio Sarri’s side completed the job with a 2-0 win against Sampdoria.

However, a report from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport paints a rather pessimistic of the club’s financial situation due to their ‘unsustainable’ wage structure.

The report details the wages paid to every single Juventus player and according to Gazzetta - per Marca - the salaries of key players has led to ‘discord’ at the club.

Ronaldo, of course, leads the way, and his wages are considerably higher than any of his teammates’.

The five-time Ballon d’Or earns a net salary of €31 million.

The next best is Matthijs de Liga, with a base net salary of €8m.

That’s an incredible disparity, although the apparent discord in the dressing room isn’t a result of Ronaldo’s hefty wages.

The Portugal international pays it all back in commercial success and his on-pitch production.

It’s more to do with other discrepancies, for example Aaron Ramsey’s wages compared to his peers.

The Welshman has struggled during his debut season in Italy, managing just 11 starts in the league, but is paid double the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Blaise Matuidi.
