It's been a turbulent season at Barcelona.

For the first time since 2017, they've lost out on the La Liga title to rivals Real Madrid.

Early exits from the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup mean the Blaugrana risk finishing this campaign without any silverware.

They are still in the Champions League but aren't favourites for the competition. Should Barca fail to lift the trophy, this season will be nothing short of a complete failure.

On top of that, it's been widely reported that star man Lionel Messi doesn't believe in head coach Quique Setien and has even perhaps lost faith in the club's hierarchy.

Can you blame him? This man is a serial winner, but he can't carry Barca by himself and he needs a manager he can trust.

So, it seems things certainly aren't rosy at the Camp Nou right now.

Reports claim Messi is unhappy at Barca

With reports of a rift between Messi and Barca, it seems Inter Milan are ready to pounce.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport report, per Marca, the Serie A club will offer the Argentine a deal worth €260million (£235m) over four years.

That's an absolutely ridiculous number. Let's break it down a bit.

Messi might be offered a crazy deal by Inter

Messi's astronomical deal would be worth £58.75m per year, which equates to £4.89m per month, or £1.22m per week. Outrageous.

GIVEMESPORT's Ollie Browning says:

Is any footballer on the planet worth £1.22 million per week? Absolutely not.

But, if anyone comes close to justifying that wage, it's Lionel Messi. But, let's be honest, is he ever going to leave Barcelona

Messi could justify those wages

It's highly unlikely, despite all the reports of a rift between him and the club.

Messi has been at Barca since the age of 13 and he's got the Blaugrana's DNA running through his blood.

Plus, the Argentine has never been one to chase the money, so it's unlikely that will be enough of a factor to tempt him away from the Camp Nou.

Messi values football more than money

Sorry, Inter fans, we just can't see a world in which you sign Messi this summer.
