Manchester United are back in the Champions League and are hoping this is the start of an exciting new era.

After a disappointing start to the 2019/20 season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side went on an incredible run and eventually finished third.

Since lockdown, only Manchester City picked up more points than United with the Red Devils unbeaten in nine league games.

Could they be setting their sights on a title challenge next season?

They’re certainly going to have to improve their squad if they want to reduce the 33-point gap to Liverpool.

But it seems the club already know their No.1 summer target - Jadon Sancho.

The rumours of Sancho returning to Manchester but for the red half just aren’t going away.

It’ll take a lot of money but it seems United are very keen to make it happen.

Sancho had an incredible campaign at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 17 goals and registering 17 assists in the Bundesliga as the 20-year-old established himself as one of the biggest talents in world football.

But how would he fit in at United?

Well, one Twitter user - @CompsFooty - has tried to imagine him and United’s most recent signing, Bruno Fernandes, playing together.

Since Bruno’s arrival, the Portuguese has scored eight and assisted seven in 14 Premier League games.

And a video shows Fernandes would feed Sancho - and vice-versa. While the video is only hypothetical, it seems they have the ability to produce the right pass and make the right run to have a lot of joy in the Premier League.

Take a look:

That’s certainly enough to get any United fans excited!

But can United get this Sancho deal over the line?

Reports suggest Dortmund are demanding £110 million for the winger - a figure the Red Devils are reluctant to pay.

But when you consider his age and his talent, £110 million doesn’t seem too outrageous for Sancho.

With Fernandes and Paul Pogba feeding balls to him and the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood around him, United could be a formidable prospect next season.
