Rangers FC return to action on Saturday afternoon as the Gers attempt to bring the SPFL title back to Ibrox.
Their fiercest rivals have reigned supreme in Glasgow for nine years now, but Steven Gerrard's men will have an ideal opportunity to land the first blow.
They take on Aberdeen away from home in a contest where all being well, the Light Blues will stamp down their authority.
Rangers have enjoyed a mightily impressive pre-season, defeating Lyon and Nice, while brushing aside Motherwell and Coventry City.
In the process, they have failed to concede a single goal.
It appears as though the defensive issues that plagued the Glaswegians towards the end of the 2019/20 campaign have been eradicated.
Of course, competitive action is a whole different ball game compared to a one-off friendly.
Gerrard has added well to his squad over the last couple of months but they still have the future of Alfredo Morelos to address.
A deal with Lille is far from being done according to the manager, but a list of replacements have been drawn up.
Per The Daily Record, one of those is Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster.
The striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea, but he could now move to Scotland for another temporary stint.
Brewster has already played under Gerrard in the Liverpool academy, a spell of his career where the Rangers boss called him "magnificent."
GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...
Rangers have already been linked with Brewster over the course of the summer, but with the threat of Morelos walking through the exit door lingering, their interest ought to become even greater.
They desperately need to add more firepower - that's even if the Colombian stays.
He has found the net just once in competitive action this calendar year and as a result, Gerrard's men suffered.
With that in mind, seemingly anyone will do. Though, Brewster would add a great deal to Ibrox.
He netted on 16 occasions this season, 11 of which came when he was on loan with the Swans. A man in form, and also match ready, he'd surely be ideal for Rangers.
Gerrard knows him well and should be able to guarantee game time, especially if Morelos does depart.
His 2.5 shots per game shows he gets in the right area and given the way he troubled Championship defences, should have no trouble adapting to life in Scotland.
A loan move would be smart work.
