With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to sweep the nation, the population of the United Kingdom are facing a summer like no other.

Thankfully for Leeds United, they have much more positive things to distract themselves with.

After storming the Sky Bet Championship last term the Whites are preparing for a return to the big time.

It's been 16 long years since Elland Road has hosted Premier League football and supporters can hardly wait for what's to come.

It's been a difficult period for the West Yorkshire side but now is the time that they can pit their wits against England's biggest and best, and prove that they're fully deserving of a spot among them.

But let's get this straight, it will not be easy.

Leeds may have been promoted as champions following a dream campaign, but they can't take anything for granted next term.

The difference in quality between the Championship and the top flight is colossal, and that means that Bielsa's side will have no choice but to strengthen if they're to stick around for more than one season.

Several players have already been linked, but fresh reports have brought a new name on Leeds United's shopping list.

According to Football Insider, the Whites are targeting Milad Mohammadi.

The KAA Gent man has attracted widespread praise after being awarded the player of the season award in Belgium's top tier last term.

A left back by trade, the Iran international could be an appealing option given his versatility which can see him play just as comfortably at right back.

While Mohammadi may not be a household name in the UK, the 26-year-old could add decent value to the Leeds side with a move likely to cost in the region of £6.3million.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

Another day, another name linked with Leeds United.

There's no doubt that the Whites are looking for a left-back for the new season, but Mohammadi is likely to be one of many options being considered.

Ezgjan Alioski, Barry Douglas and Stuart Dallas have all featured on the left side of defence this term, but they're going to need an upgrade in the top flight.

The Iranian defender may well prove to be a shrewd addition based on the calibre of his performances in Belgium this year.

Add his versatility into the equation and you can certainly see why Marcelo Bielsa could be interested, with the head coach keen to use the smallest squad possible.

But whether a move for the 26-year-old is seen as the best option for the role is massively up for debate.

Never say never, but I'd imagine other targets to be pursued first.
