Eyebrows were raised when Romelu Lukaku moved from Manchester United to Inter Milan for a club-record £80m last summer.

He'd failed to set the world alight at Old Trafford but did score a respectable 42 goals in 96 appearances.

That's not exactly club record value, though.

During his time in England, Lukaku was often criticised for his first touch, more than his goal contributions.

It became a running joke that any time the Belgian touched the ball, he'd miss-control it badly and waste a good chance.

Compilations quickly popped up on social media slating the striker's touch and Man United fans may never forget some of his worst.

But it seems Lukaku has turned a corner during his impressive first season at Inter and that was confirmed on Saturday night when he took what many fans are describing as a world-class touch.

Lukaku's developing at Inter Milan

The Belgian brought the falling ball under control while backing into a defender, killing it instantly, before turning away and beating a second man.

That is fantastic. Has moving to Inter fixed his first touch? Perhaps so. But it's not just his control that's improved since moving to Serie A.

Lukaku has netted 29 goals in 46 games, bettering any single-season total he's had in his career to date at Man United, Everton, Chelsea, West Brom or Anderlecht.

He's also provided five assists for his teammates, showing that he'll surely be well worth the £80m Milan paid for him. Check out some more general highlights from his season below:

In fact, he's been instrumental in the Nerazzurri's impressive campaign, which has seen them finish second in Serie A, just one point behind winners Juventus.

Next season, don't put it past Antonio Conte's side to challenge for the Scudetto again and you can bet that in the next few years, Lukaku will be a very important player at the San Siro.
