Arsenal have won the FA Cup but keeping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is perhaps even more important.
Mikel Arteta’s side beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday to claim a record 14th FA Cup.
Obviously, Aubameyang was their star man during the final scoring twice to help his side come from behind to lift the cup.
The 31-year-old has been nothing short of sensational since he arrived at the club in January 2018 for £56 million.
He’s managed 70 goals in 109 appearances and has now been rewarded with his first trophy.
But the club need to reward him with a new contract if they want to keep him at the Emirates.
The Gabon international’s current deal expires in 2021 and he’s demanding an increase on his £180,000-a-week wages.
And it seems Aubameyang’s brace in the FA Cup final has sparked the club into action. According to the Daily Star, Arsenal will offer their star striker a new £250,000-a-week deal this week in an attempt to keep him.
The report states that club owner Stan Kroenke has sanctioned the new three-year contract for Aubameyang following talks with his representatives.
According to the Mirror, that figure is what Aubameyang was asking for as he looked for a lucrative new three-year deal.
Is that offer enough to stop his head being turned by the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan?

After the final, Arteta was obviously asked about the future of Aubameyang and the Spaniard didn’t hide his desire to keep him at the club.
"The most difficult thing in football is to find the right striker, that is for sure and he makes it look simple,” Arteta admitted.
"We always had incredible strikers at this football club and Auba deserves to be named and compared with the big names. By winning trophies he will be closer to that and the longer he stays here, hopefully we can have him for longer.
"The biggest problem was to convince him to work the way he was working. He was going to get more rewards and more respect - and our respect would go to admiration.
"Admiration from his team-mates and the people who have been with him and also from the fans. I think now, the way he is conducting himself on and off the field, he has got that and has reached that."
