Jadon Sancho is expected to become Manchester United’s big summer signing ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. The 20-year-old, who has starred for Borussia Dortmund over the past three seasons, is set to become the Red Devils’ record signing.Paul Pogba is still United’s most expensive signing following his £89.3 million move from Juventus in August 2016, but the deal for Sancho is likely to blow that figure out of the water.According to Neil Custis of The Sun, United will fork out an eye-watering £110 million for Sancho. However, only £70 million will be paid upfront, with the additional £40 million comprised of add-ons.These add-ons will be activated based on Sancho’s appearances and achievements at Old Trafford, such as United winning the Premier League or Champions League.Dortmund have set a deadline of August 10 (next Monday) for United to agree a deal for the England international. But the Premier League side, according to The Sun, will not be bullied into meeting this deadline by the German club. The Sun’s report adds that Sancho *will* become Man Utd’s new No. 7.
The number previously worn by Old Trafford legends including Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo will become vacant once Alexis Sanchez completes his permanent move to Inter Milan.
Sancho is also set to sign a four-year deal, with the option on the club’s side of extending it by a further 12 months, worth £220,000 a week.
This wage will make him the fourth-highest earner at the Theatre of Dreams.
