Leeds United are already loving their return to the Premier League.

The Whites spent 16 long years outside of the top flight in a period where many suggested that they may never be able to re-create their former glories.

That was until Marcelo Bielsa entered the fray.

The appointment of the Argentine in 2018 was an absolute game-changer for the west Yorkshire side who suddenly started playing the most fast-paced, eye-catching brand of football that the English Football League had seen in years.

Not only was it gorgeous to watch; it was very effective.

Leeds stormed to victory in the Championship last term - beating second place West Brom to the title by a huge 10 points.

It's that sort of dominance that they'll hope to take with them into the Premier League in the coming year.

If Leeds are to last the pace in the top flight then signing players will be a must.

Experienced players will help the club to immediately adjust to life in the fast lane, but signing young talents will help them stay there.

It's that balance that Victor Orta and the recruitment team are striving for.

But when you're going for the top talent you have to be prepared to face significant competition to get your man.

Leeds have been hot on the trail of Sunderland starlet Daniel Neil.

The 18-year-old is attracting plenty of interest with the Whites and rivals Newcastle United both said to be keen.

But according to Football Insider, Wolves are preparing to hijack the deal.

The midfielder is expected to leave the Stadium Of Light this summer, and a move to Molineux could now be the preferred destination for the youngster.

That means that Leeds will need to double their efforts if they're to convince the player that a move to Elland Road is for him.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

The interest from Wolves is certainly a blow for Leeds United, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker.

Leeds United are a club that any young player in world football would love to play for - after all, they're one of England's original big guns.

While Nuno Espirito Santo's side may be able to offer an immediate opportunity to join a club who are competing for a place in Europe each season, there's still a case to say that Leeds are a bigger club.

Marcelo Bielsa has to be a big pull as well.

The Argentine loves training young players and turning them into real talents - you only have to look at the work that he did with Kalvin Phillips and Ben White last term.

For Daniel Neil, it certainly seems like he has an exciting decision to make, but he'd be foolish not to be thinking about his route to the first team when making his decision.
