It could be a landmark season at Parkhead.Celtic have enjoyed an unprecedented period of success in the Scottish Premiership in recent years - something that has put them on the cusp of a real landmark. The Bhoys won their ninth consecutive league title last term, putting them just one away from an impressive run of 10-in-a-row.That said, reaching the milestone could be more difficult than first thought. For the first time in several years Rangers FC have high hopes of mounting a genuine title challenge this time around.Celtic are still favourites, but Neil Lennon knows that they'll need to strengthen to give themselves the best chance of capping off a decade of domination.Several players have already been linked, but one target seems to be moving forward.According to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph, Celtic's move for Albian Ajeti seems to be gathering pace.p1ees91dl67n6sl0jh5o7q21f9.jpgThe West Ham star has been heavily linked with a move to Glasgow this summer after struggling for game time at the London Stadium. The Scottish champions are keen to bring a striker to Parkhead this summer with a loan move for the 23-year-old seen as a priority.Reports last week suggested that a move had stalled, with Ajeti keen to assess his options ahead of a move. However the latest reports have claimed that the forward is keen on a move and could make a decision while enjoying a holiday in Sardinia.

While a move for a striker is a priority, a move for Ajeti is not thought to be with Odsonne Edouard's future in mind.

The Celtic hitman has been heavily linked with a move away, however it seems that the West Ham man would be targeted anyway to improve options in attacking areas.

Should Edouard leave the club then it would most likely mean that a second attacker would be target.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is a move that is progressing as expected.

It's no secret that Celtic need a new striker to add competition in attacking areas, but that could prove trickier than first thought.

With the transfer window very much in its infancy, many clubs are looking to take their time over which players to offload this summer.

That's due to hopes of attracting increased interest, as well as affording managers to run the rule over their squad before making decision.

With Albian Ajeti on holiday this isn't a deal that is likely to be wrapped up soon, but that doesn't mean that it won't happen.

The chances are that a decision will be made when Ajeti returns to training with West Ham, that way the player can make an informed decision after holding discussions with his club.

That will still give Celtic plenty of time to wrap up a deal - they've just got to hope that the player's head isn't turned by anyone else.
