Wolves suffered bitter disappointment last weekend.
For so long, Nuno Santo's men had been in the race for European football.
However, after Arsenal's victory in Saturday's FA Cup final, it meant that the Midlands side lost out.
Following the conclusion of the Premier League campaign, it appeared as though Wolves had qualified for the Europa League but the Gunners ultimately entered the group stages at their expense.
It will be a lesson to Nuno and co. Finish the season stronger and you will be guaranteed a place among some of Europe's elite.
Fortunately, however, they still have one last route into next season's continental tournaments.
Wolves remain in the 2019/20 Europa League and if they come through a number of ties to win the final, they will earn a place in Europe for 2020/21.
That feels like a long way off for now but there's no reason why they can't do it. The Midlanders have a never say die attitude that has carried them from the Championship to back to back finishes in the top half of the Premier League.
If Wolves want to finish in the Champions League place then more signings will be needed, something they are already keen to press on with.
According to French outlet Le10 Sport, they hold an interest in PSG midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye.
A hit with Everton and Aston Villa in the Premier League, he could depart the French champions after only just over a year in Paris.
Manchester United also have their eye on Gueye who is rated at £21.6m by Transfermarkt.

This would be a sensational piece of business from Wolves.
Gueye is widely renowned as one of the best tacklers in world football and he illustrated that while playing for Everton and Villa.
He won the most tackles in the top-flight throughout the 2016/17 campaign, at a rate of 4.1 successful challenges per game.
However, he improved on that ratio in his final term with the Toffees, coming out on top of 4.3 tackles per outing.
He is a remarkable ball winner, but he also keeps things calm, maintaining a pass success rate of 92.7% this season. He has been so good in France that Presnel Kimpembe claimed he was a "monster."
Gueye is an elite player and his move to PSG proves that. It's hardly surprising, too, that based on the above statistics he's earned comparisons to a certain N'Golo Kante.
Speaking about the Senegal international in 2018, Sam Allardyce said: "He has this N’Golo Kante-like style and we have heard the praise about Kante and what he did for Leicester City. So I think Gana is that type of player for us."
If Wolves do indeed sign the 30-year-old, they'd know they have a player capable of starring on a regular basis in the top-flight. He'd be a fine addition to their midfield.
