And that ensured that the Gunners qualified for the Europa League, meaning they have the opportunity to offer new signings the carrot of European football.
However, it isn’t just new signings that the Gunners will be looking for, and they may have to trim their squad if they are to bring in new additions.
One potential exit comes in midfield, with Lucas Torreira potentially in demand.
The 24-year-old played five times after the restart of Premier League proceedings, but his lengthiest time on the pitch came to 57 minutes. He last finished the 90 minutes against Chelsea in January.
And Sport Witness carries a report from Corriere dello Sport claiming that Torino could look to secure the 24-year-old’s signature.
They are looking to appoint Marco Giampaolo as their new manager and he worked with Torreira at Sampdoria.
He is said to be keen on a reunion with his former charge and has asked his prospective employers to move for the Uruguay international.

Torreira doesn’t seem to be in favour at Arsenal.
He has made just eight starts under Arteta and just five of those have seen him complete the entire game.
That means that he isn’t really going to be missed if he does depart.
He is valued at £27 million by Transfermarkt and receiving such a fee for him would be a major boost for a club that have naturally seen their resources depleted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cashing in makes all the sense in the world as Arsenal look to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.
