Rockstar have had our hearts on strings for years now when it comes to the next instalment of the GTA series.
Just when we thought we might finally get a look at GTA 6, Rockstar throws a huge spanner in the works and gave us GTA 5 re-remastered.
GTA V was released seven years ago for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and since then, has been remastered for the current generation of consoles, and thanks to the announcement made by Rockstar at the PS5 launch event, we now know that it will be remastered once again for the next generation.
Of course, there is no denying that GTA Online has been a massive success for the game’s publisher, which unfortunately means they’ve been in no rush to develop their next entry.
Fans of the series have obviously been clamouring for the next instalment, though, with very little information being offered on GTA 6.
That, however, may have just changed.
Reddit user markothemexican, who usually gets things spot on when it comes to all things Rockstar, has leaked some much sought after information on GTA 6.
The Reddit user apparently lives with a former employee of Rockstar North that was let go along with 100 other staff members... sounds convenient.
The original post made by the user has been deleted, however, the details of the leak have been tracked down. The leak suggests that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City, the iconic fictional location based on Miami.
GTA: Vice City was based in the 1980’s, however, the leak offered no details as to when GTA 6 will be set.
The leaker’s roommate offered information on the weather programming in the game and how it effects NPCs, suggesting that we will see some incredible moments in-game because of it. The leaker states that we will see the likes of NPCs getting struck by lightning.
The leaker also states that he believes the game will be released next year, however, he wasn’t too sure as his roommate wasn’t given a deadline for the project.
The return to Vice City has already been massively rumoured along with the game’s storyline being inspired by Netflix series Narcos.
This Reddit user has also suggested that we could return to Liberty City in GTA Online as part of a heist in a post which, again, has been deleted.
The original post read: "The new location is Liberty City. Niko Bellic is coming back, with his voice talent Michael Hollick. Roman Bellic is also coming back. The heist is about robbing gold reserves in Liberty City (10 million max take). Many freemode activities and Quick Jobs will be added to remastered Liberty City and future updates for PS5 will be based on Liberty City."
