The Champions League is making its triumphant return to television screens across the world on Friday evening.

Europe's - and the world's - most prestigious club competition has been sorely missed, as there is no tournament quite like it.

The best players on the planet lining up against each other year in year out? You couldn't ask for any more as a football fan.

Given the ridiculous quality levels seen in every round of the competition, scoring and creating goals on a consistent basis in the Champions League are skills performed only by the elite.

As such, the list of the 25 players with the most goals and assists combined since the tournament's rebrand in 1992/93 is wall-to-wall legends.

Ronaldo with Juventus

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo and Messi comfortably take the top two spots, while Benzema is closing in on being just the third player to notch triple figures for goal involvements.

Ronaldo takes top spot in terms of goals scored, assists made and overall goal involvements - the guy really has made the Champions League his playground.

Does Messi stand a chance of surprassing his eternal rival in any of the three departments? It's hard to see it happening, especially given the fact Ronaldo is showing no signs of slowing down at Juventus.

Aguero (joint 16th) is the only active Premier League player in the top 25 and Neymar (13th) is the youngest player on the list at just 28 - further highlighting what an unbelievable player the Brazilian is and has been.

Aguero with Man City

Lewandowski (6th) will be eyeing up a spot among the top five in the near future. The Bayern Munich goal machine currently trails Van Nistelrooy (5th) by seven and Raul (4th) by eight.

The Pole is the current top scorer in the 2019/20 Champions League with 11 goals in just six games.

Watch out Chelsea, Lewa - and Muller (joint 10th) - will be eager to improve their already impressive records on Saturday evening.
