This week has been a rollercoaster ride for Arsenal.On Saturday, they were crowned FA Cup champions, winning the competition for a record 14th time.However, things have only got worse for the Gunners since that moment. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is yet to sign a new deal at the club, while the north Londoners are now staring at having to make 55 of their staff redundant.Among those who will walk out of the club is Francis Cagigao, the widely renowned scout famed for bringing Cesc Fabregas, Hector Bellerin and Gabriel Martinelli to the Premier League. Other senior members of the scouting team also look set to depart in a move that has caused controversy among those who love the English game, with some ridiculing Arsenal. That being said, the decision to release a vast number of their staff from their duties won't have an impact on the club's transfer plans.Two targets this summer appear to be Philippe Coutinho and Willian. The latter is available on a free transfer, providing he doesn't pen new terms with Chelsea, while the former could arrive on loan from Barcelona. Willian refused a contract offer from Frank Lampard's men again at the beginning of the week and Arsenal have since been in talks to lure him to the other side of London. As for Coutinho, he was offered to the Gunners a few days ago.However, the man at the centre of seemingly every transfer in world football, Fabrizio Romano, has now delivered a fresh update on Mikel Arteta's interest in the attacking duo.He took to Twitter to say: 

This is news that mitigates the idea that Arsenal were preferring a deal for Willian over Coutinho. It looks as though both are still firmly on the cards.

One of Arsenal's main problems this term, whether it was under Unai Emery or Arteta, was creating goalscoring opportunities. 

Mesut Ozil racked up 2.1 key passes per game but he only appeared in 18 Premier League outings so is effectively made redundant in this situation. 

The next best behind him was Nicolas Pepe, but from a wide position, his key pass statistics per match only came to 1.3. 

It's a big problem for the Gunners who only scored 56 times in the Premier League, a tally that was behind all of the division's top six clubs.

With that in mind, if they want to get back among Europe's elite, they will not only have to start defending better but also start scoring more goals. 

The additions of Willian and Coutinho could more than help in that department. Assessing their individual stats, it's clear to see that creatively, they are superb.

The Chelsea forward created 2.2 key chances per game, while Coutinho provided 1.4. Adding the pair of them could be game-changing for the club.
