Celtic are in no mood to mess about this season.

The Hoops began their term with a swashbuckling 5-1 victory last weekend, sending a message that would have been reverberated all around Glasgow.

If the Bhoys win the SPFL this term, it will mark a record tenth crown in a row, condemning Rangers to a further campaign behind them.

Neil Lennon has taken over expertly from Brendan Rodgers and this side is now full of attacking quality capable of causing some damage in Europe too.

Odsonne Edouard is a star, winning the club's Player of the Year award for 2019/20 and then opening his account with a hat-trick last Sunday.

It's no surprise he's been linked with the Premier League but losing him could have adverse consequences.

That is, of course, if Lennon doesn't sign a striker to replace him.

Moi Elyounoussi has already arrived on a further loan spell to boost their attacking ranks but another winger could arrive if reports are to be believed.

According to Wigan Today, Celtic are eyeing a move for Jamal Lowe.

The attacker scored six goals and created five assists last term but is set to become one of the players Wigan sell to combat their administration and plight into League One.

Cardiff and Millwall are interested in the 26-year-old but it's thought that Celtic's attraction to the player is greater.

No fee is mentioned in the report but Transfermarkt rate him at just £1.2m. Lowe only joined Wigan a year ago when he cost the Latics £2m following his arrival from Portsmouth.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

Lowe's career to date has been quite something. Only a few years ago, the wide man was playing for Hitchin Town, Hemel Hempstead and Hampton and Richmond in non-league football.

However, he's now a rising star of the English Football League, netting 17 for Pompey in 2018/19.

A move to Wigan saw him contribute to 11 goals and according to those who know him well, he's only getting better and better.

Speaking in April 2019 before he left for Wigan, journalist Neil Allen claimed

"He's a huge talent and he's improving every season. He's been an immense player since joining and he continuously improves."

Fine praise indeed for a player who could step into the shoes vacated by Scott Sinclair this year.

One of the stars of the decade for Celtic, he racked up 62 goals and 34 assists in 167 outings before joining Preston.

A player possessing similar qualities - pace and instinctive finishing ability - Lowe could more than make up for his exit.

This would be a smart and presumably low-cost addition from Nick Hammond. He must ensure he gets it over the line.
