Netflix have dropped 'Anelka: Misunderstood' - a feature-length documentary that follows the career of controversial striker Nicolas Anelka - and it's available to watch today.

The two-hour showcase will reflect on a journeyman career that saw the Frenchman play for Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Bolton and West Brom.

It will also include Anelka discussing his childhood, faith, time at the Real Madrid and of course, his troubled relationship with the French national team and certain coaches.

We all remember his actions at the 2010 World Cup - when he was famously sent home for his verbal outburst against manager Raymond Domenech.

That moment, of course, will be put under the microscope.

The documentary will be told in Anelka's own words and features interviews from those who knew him best.

Arsene Wenger, Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba, Patrice Evra, Paul Pogba, Robert Pires and many more are set to be involved. You can check out the trailer below:

That looks absolutely fantastic, doesn't it?

A number of news angles have already emerged from the doc and as you can expect, a lengthy part covers his falling out with the Domenech at the World Cup.

In 'Misunderstood', Anelka gives his version of the event that rocked the France national team 10 years ago.

Anelka was expelled from France's World Cup squad

"I was frustrated going into the locker room. I was thinking to myself 'I’m not getting the ball, I’m not finding a solution. We’re playing badly, it’s 0-0 and we still haven’t scored'.

"All of a sudden, the coach came in and called me out by name. When he called out my name with all that pent-up frustration it just came out because I didn’t like it.

"I didn’t like that he called me out by name as if I were guilty as if it were all my fault.

Domenech and Anelka had a bust up in 2010

"I took it as an attack. It was a big mistake. He had to know I was frustrated. He had to know I was a volcano about to erupt."

We won't spoil any more for you, don't worry. But trust us when we say Anelka: Misunderstood is not to be missed.
