If Celtic had £20m for every striker they were linked with this summer, they could surely launch an assault on the Champions League.
Neil Lennon's side have identified the centre-forward position as one that clearly needs improving, that's even with Odsonne Edouard in their ranks.
The Frenchman started the season in mesmeric form last weekend, bagging a hat-trick as the Hoops beat Hamilton 5-1.
However, if he does indeed leave, a replacement will be needed.
Lyndon Dykes was linked with a move a few months ago while Israel striker Shon Weissman was also an option.
More recently, Steven Fletcher has emerged as a short-term solution. According to Lennon, they are in contact with the player's representatives and have offered the 33-year-old a contract.
Despite that, another forward could walk through the door in the coming months.
That also happens to be another free agent.
Per Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie, Celtic are in talks to sign former Charlton forward Lyle Taylor.
The striker has been out of contract after rejecting new terms with the Addicks in search of what Lee Bowyer claimed could be a "life-changing" move for the Montserrat international.
Taylor has been touted with a switch to Rangers in the window but after signing two attackers this week, they are probably further down in the pecking order to land the 30-year-old.
With Vakoun Issouf Bayo potentially departing on loan, Taylor could be the ideal replacement to play back-up to Edouard - that's providing he sticks around for a little while longer.

Taylor's situation at Charlton was rather alarming, particularly from a professional point of view.
The forward refused to play in the remaining nine games of the season, primarily because he was worried about picking up another injury that would prevent a high profile summer move.
Taylor found the back of the net 11 times in the Championship last season but endured a torrid time on the sidelines where he spent several months out.
However, the conclusion of the season failed to see him earn too many fans - including Chris Sutton.
The former Celtic striker was left dismayed and angry at his refusal to play.
Speaking on BBC radio, (via FLW), he said: "The one thing I can’t understand is he has a contract. He is not fulfilling his contract. Are Charlton still paying him? They shouldn’t be paying him.
“And I have to say, if I was in his dressing room, I’d get him up against a wall, I’d pin him up against the wall, he has let his club down.
"It is so selfish," Sutton added.
Taylor is clearly a capable player, one that based on his form in the Championship last term, could score a lot of goals in Scotland.
That being said, he is a player that comes with risks, both professionally and from a fitness point of view.
Lennon must be careful.
