Leeds have identified a clear policy this summer.

That's to sign young domestic players capable of improving the overall mould of Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

Victor Orta admitted that things would be difficult given COVID-19 this week, but that hopefully won't stop the Whites from bringing in new faces.

After all, an estimated £200m windfall has been injected into the club following their promotion and they look well set to splash the cash.

Brentford's Ollie Watkins, Said Benrahma and Rico Henry have all been linked, but Ebere Eze and Michy Batshuayi are also being targeted.

All players who possess a vast amount of potential, it's a similar direction to the one Aston Villa took last summer in signing the likes of Tyrone Mings, Matt Targett and Douglas Luiz.

However, it now looks as though Leeds are about to enter the foreign market.

Andrea Radrizzani

Orta was spotted at the airport on his way to meet a potential new signing this week but the player isn't known.

Could it be Nicolas Gonzalez? The 22-year-old has been touted with a switch to Leeds.

That's according to The Mirror who state the Whites could be ready to spend £20m in order to sign the Argentine forward.

Currently at Stuttgart, Bielsa reportedly views him as someone that can be a big star in the Premier League.

Although, they'll have to fight off competition from a plethora of clubs throughout the globe.

That includes Borussia Dortmund, Inter, AC Milan, Roma, Lazio and Napoli.

Nicolas Gonzalez

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

Gonzalez may not be known too much by an English audience but he's certainly an exciting individual.

The youngster bagged 15 goals in 29 matches in Germany last term and also provided four assists.

Though, vitally to Bielsa, he can play on the flanks as well as through the middle.

A player with a robust nature, picking up eight yellow cards in 2019/20, he is an aggressive individual that also possesses a vast amount of technical grace.

Gonzalez in action for Argentina

Described as a "classy" player, one reminiscent to Real Madrid legend Raul, he completed 2.1 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga this term.

He also took 2.7 shots per game and registered 1.5 key passes. That proves that he isn't just dangerous in front of goal, but is also very good at unlocking the defence.

The only negative point to spot about Gonzalez is his pass success rate.

Per WhoScored, he completed just 68.7% for Stuttgart, a tally that wouldn't be in tune with Bielsa's free-flowing passing style.
