He's averaging 1.4 goal involvements per appearance and the Polish striker set some very impressive records with his brilliance against Chelsea.Lewandowski's brace means he has now scored 13 goals in the Champions League this season, the most by a player in a single campaign before the quarter-final stage.Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have ever scored more goals in a single edition of the tournament, with the former's 17 goals in 2013/14 the current record.The way Lewandowski is playing, he'll have the Portuguese's tally firmly in his sights, even if the quarter-final and semi-final ties in Lisbon are all one-legged.
But the Pole has already equalled a record in the Champions League that's eluded even Ronaldo and Messi.
Lewandowski was involved in all seven goals versus Chelsea across the two legs (three goals, four assists) becoming the first player since Luis Figo to score three or more and also assist three or more goals against the same opponent in a single season.
The Portuguese legend achieved the feat against AS Roma back in 2004/05 in his final year with Real Madrid.
