He may not have won the Grand Prix at Silverstone this afternoon, but Lewis Hamilton matched a remarkable Michael Schumacher record.

The British ace, who is arguably the greatest to ever drive in Formula One, now has 155 podium finishes to his name, the same as the German legend.

Sadly for Hamilton, he couldn't turn a second-place qualifying position into yet another Grand Prix victory, but he did manage to overtake his teammate Valtteri Bottas late on to secure second place.

Hamilton finished behind Red Bull ace Max Verstappen, but it's more healthy points for the Mercedes man as he eyes his seventh Drivers' Championship.

Should he win the championship this season, he will level yet another Schumacher record of seven championships.

However, today he had to settle for second place and equaling Schumacher's podium finishes.

Below you can see an infographic of the podium records, with Hamilton now tied first with the Ferrari legend.

As you can see from the image, Hamilton has needed 255 entries to achieve 155 podium finishes, whereas Schumacher needed 308 entries.

That gives the Brit a percentage of 60.78%, with Schumacher having a percentage of 50.32%.

It's yet more proof that maybe it is time to consider Lewis Hamilton as the greatest Formula One driver of all time.

The Mercedes man will be eyeing the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend to overtake Schumacher with 156 podium finishes.

With his car and with his ability, you'd be a fool to bet against him.
