This a move that would certainly throw the cat amongst the pigeons.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is undoubtedly a talented football player who deserves to be playing more than he is at the moment.
It seems that the 22-year-old is undervalued at the Emirates Stadium and that, quite rightly, has led him to consider his future.
While he's often described as a versatile midfielder, Maitland Niles is definitely best in central midfielder, and so he will naturally be wanting to excel in that position.
I can only imagine the reaction if he left Arsenal for Tottenham.
The Gunners can hardly complain if the player does make the move to Jose Mourinho's side, given their stance that he's available.
But I'm sure that the supporters will be less-than impressed if it does happen.
In terms of the player, I think that moving to Spurs would be a great move and the chance to link up with Mourinho could see Maitland-Niles take his game to the next level.
