Mike Tyson's long-awaited comeback fight has now been postponed until November at the very earliest, according to reports in America.

Iron Mike was set to make his return to the ring on September 12, despite being the tender age of 54, but it now seems that boxing fans will have to wait until the end of November to see the iconic figure lace up a pair of boots and don the boxing gloves.

It's being reported that the fight will now take place on November 28.

According to Ring Magazine, it is Tyson's team who have asked for the fight to be postponed.

The same report has claimed that the request to move the fight was to maximise revenue. A meeting was held between the two camps, and it was a decision that Roy Jones Jr agreed to.

This now gives both boxers an extra month-and-a-half to prepare for the fight, which can only be a good thing for both camps.

The fight is scheduled to be an eight-round exhibition bout, with head guards worn to prevent the chances of a knockout.

Although a lot of people will be disappointed by this fact, it makes a lot of sense considering they've both been out of the game for some time now and they are both north of 50.

Jones Jr, who is three years younger than Tyson, has the most recent experience, but has still been retired for a number of years now.

We will sadly have to wait an extra month-and-a-half to see Iron Mike back in the ring, but hopefully it will be worth the wait... even if it is a bit of a farce come fight night.

In the meantime, we have to settle with watching Tyson fight some sharks... no, seriously... YouTube it.
