Leeds United supporters are still on cloud nine after last season.

Following 16 years of struggle, the Whites were finally reinstated to the Premier League after a splendid campaign.

Winning the Championship title by 10 points, Marcelo Bielsa took the league by storm with their free-flowing, high-intensity style of play.

In truth no other side was a realistic match for the Whites.

With Bielsa's squad deserving every plaudit possible after such an impressive campaign, attention now turns to their top flight return.

The Argentine is likely to keep the faith with his current squad this term, however one man in particular faces an uncertain future.

That is Kiko Casilla.

The Spanish goalkeeper was a mainstay of Bielsa's side until he was found guilty of racial abuse against on loan Charlton man Jonathan Leko.

That led to an eight-match suspension which all-but ended his season.

Illan Meslier filled in for Casilla during his ban, but notably kept the jersey even when the 33-year-old was eligible to return.

It turns out that this was a hint for Bielsa's plans this term.

Football Insider have reported that the club have told Casilla that he will be the deputy goalkeeper this term if he stays at Elland Road.

That has put his long-term future with the west Yorkshire side in doubt with the stopper potentially considering his options.

Bielsa has reportedly reiterated that he's happy for Casilla to stay at the club, but given the Spaniard's age he may well look at options outside of the UK where he can put this chapter behind him.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This can hardly be a surprise for Kiko Casilla.

After being found guilty of racist abuse it always seemed that the writing would be on the wall with regards to his Leeds United future.

Despite pleading his innocence, the goalkeeper's reputation in the United Kingdom has taken a real battering as a result of the whole situation.

Given the robust stance taken by the Premier League in the fight against racism, it always seemed untenable that Casilla could reinstate himself as Leeds' first choice keeper.

With Illan Meslier looking very impressive so far, they already have a player who could take on that role next season.

But with speculation over moves for Emiliano Martinez and Sergio Romero, it certainly seems that the Whites are planning for life without Casilla.
