Manchester United are through to the semi-finals of the Europa League after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Danish side Copenhagen after extra-time.It took until the 95th-minute in the first half of extra-time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to break the deadlock.Anthony Martial had just seen his effort saved yet again by Copenhagen goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson. However, second later, Martial had the ball again before he was brought down by Andreas Bjelland.Referee Clement Turpin pointed immediately to the spot and we all know what happened next.Bruno Fernandes stepped up and, without performing his usual hop, stuck the ball away from United's 21st penalty of the season.
In truth, it looked as though it was going to be just one of those nights for the Red Devils as they saw a penalty award and two goals chalked off by VAR.
They also struck the woodwork on a number of occasions with Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes going close.
Copenhagen, who finished second in the Danish Superliga this season, were threatening on the break, though, with Rasmus Falk looking very dangerous.
United will now face either Wolves or Sevilla in the last-four.
In the other quarter-final, former United striker Romelu Lukaku scored as Inter beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 to progress to the semi-finals.
