Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho continues to rumble on.

The summer transfer window has yet to actually see any truly major moves, apart from Chelsea’s signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

Nevertheless, there are a number of intriguing reports surrounding the Borussia Dortmund star.

Reports in the English press had claimed that the club were nearing an agreement to sign the England international, with The Guardian claiming a £90 million fee would be paid.

However, soon after they appeared to reach an impasse in negotiations.

Sky Sports reported that United were unwilling to be bullied over a fee, with the Bundesliga giants demanding over £100m for the 20-year-old.

Now, though, there are new reports surrounding the possibility of a deal.

Dortmund had set United a deadline of Monday the 10th of August to seal a deal, but that has now elapsed.

Sancho has subsequently flown with the German club to Switzerland for their pre-season training camp, per Bild via Sport Witness, and there has yet to even be an offer tabled.

They report that there has been no formal bid from United, and Dortmund are confident of tying him to a new deal.

They are said to be willing to offer him a huge pay rise and even if he does stay, they could cash in next summer.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This has been a game of smoke and mirrors from the outset.

There have been various reports in both England and Germany and they have mostly been contradictory.

It appears that there have been different briefings from both clubs and one has to assume that this is only going to rumble on.

Sancho has been in brilliant form this season, scoring 20 goals and registering 20 assists in all competitions, and he would be a brilliant addition to their forward line.

If United are going to get him in, they need to act quickly, as it seems Dortmund are more than willing to keep him.
