There are players on the wage bill who simply haven’t justified their wages.

One has to wonder how the Toffees are justifying such wastage and another example comes in the form of Cenk Tosun.
Signed for a staggering £27m, he has scored just 10 goals in 51 outings. That’s an average of a goal every 0.1 games.
So poor has he been, that he was loaned to Crystal Palace in 2020, where he made just five appearances and scored only once.
Now, though, it seems that he could finally be on his way out of the club.
Sport Witness carries a report from Sporx, claiming that West Bromwich Albion are interested in buying the forward this summer.
Slaven Bilic’s side have won promotion to the Premier League and are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a return to the top-flight.
Everton value Tosun at between €8m and €10m (£7.1m and £8.9m), and are willing to cash in this summer.
It would represent a huge loss, but they cannot expect to turn a profit on a player who has been so abysmal at Goodison Park.

Everton’s recruitment team have a lot to answer for and Tosun has to be regarded as one of the worst players every to play for the club.
He has made no impact in the final third, despite being signed to score goals, and they now need to take any offer they can receive for the Turkey international.
If the Baggies really are interested, and are set to table a bid, one has to question their wisdom, but the Toffees should be talking up Tosun’s qualities.
Not that he has any, mind.
