Crystal Palace are looking to crack the top 10.

The Eagles finished the season in 14th place, and Roy Hodgson’s side are now looking to strengthen the squad as the summer transfer window continues.

Palace ultimately ended the season nine points clear of the relegation zone and 11 behind 10th-placed Burnley.

They have some ground to make up if they are to become a top half team, then.

And possible targets are now being identified.

Sport Witness carries a report from Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu, who claims that a forward’s agent has travelled to London to negotiate a potential transfer to Selhurst Park.

That’s Florinel Coman, an attacker who currently plays for FCSB in Romania.

The 22-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 15 goals and registering 11 assists.

The Romania international has won three caps for his country and he is valued at €15 million (£13.4m) by his current club.

Rosu claims that Coman has been compared to PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe and he could add some depth to the club’s attack.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This would be a relatively cheap deal for Palace to do.

It feels that the pieces are in place for a deal to be negotiated, given that his agent is currently in London and negotiating with the Eagles’ hierarchy.

Signing a player compared with Mbappe comes with an element of risk, of course, as expectations can only be set so high.

But given there remains uncertainty over the future of winger Wilfried Zaha, it makes sense for the club to strengthen their forward line.

Coman is unproven in a top European league, but this could be a shrewd signing for Palace.
