Leeds United are causing a stir in the transfer market.

Since being promoted from the Championship, they've been one of the most active sides in England when it's come to recruitment.

Victor Orta has already boarded flights to search for a new striker while four faces have walked through the door.

Illan Meslier has joined on a permanent basis while Jack Harrison has signed up for another season-long loan.

However, as far as new faces go, Charlie Allen and Joe Gelhardt have also been snapped up.

Gelhardt is the most eye-catching of acquisitions so far, being acquired from Wigan Athletic, a club in free-fall after administration.

Dubbed the new Wayne Rooney, it'll be exciting to see whether the teenager can work his way into Marcelo Bielsa's Premier League plans.

Signing young players has been the order of the day so far and now it looks as though another one could arrive.

That's according to Ajax Show Time who suggest one of the Dutch club's young talents is off to join Leeds.

That happens to be goalkeeper Dani Van den Heuvel. The 17-year-old left Ajax on a free transfer this summer and after departing, it looks as though he has chosen the Whites as his new destination.

The teenager had a contract offer on the table from the Dutch giants but he opted against signing it.

As a result, he could become the second new stopper to sign for the club in recent months.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

This is an utterly perplexing signing.

Although landing young players like this usually don't signal much, Leeds have a plethora of 'keepers already available to them.

Italian Elia Caprile only signed from Chievo in January while it's easy to forget Kamil Miazek is still on their books.

With that in mind, it's hard to picture where Van den Heuvel could fit in. A place in the U18 squad is likely to be calling, but any senior team football in the immediate future looks difficult for him to achieve.

Illan Meslier champagne Leeds promotion

With Meslier also 20 years of age, he could be Leeds' number one for a considerable number of years.

The only possible explanation is that Kiko Casilla could be leaving. The Spaniard was found guilty of racism this season but surprisingly played on the final day despite a period where he was banned and left in the wilderness.

Even then, it's not easy to see where Van den Heuvel's opportunities lie.
