Manchester United need to plan for life without Jadon Sancho.

The club missed their deadline to sign the young starlet and he's now joined back up with Borussia Dortmund for pre-season.

Sporting Director Michael Zorc has even come out to say the forward's move away from Germany simply isn't happening.

"We plan with Jadon Sancho. He’ll play for us next season. The decision is final. It think that answers all of the questions," he said during a press conference.

So, what happens next for Man United

Well, it seems they'll be turning their attentions elsewhere and already have a target in mind.

Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

Havertz could be hijacked by Man Utd

That name is very familiar to football fans, considering he's long been linked with a £90m move to Chelsea - and is reportedly desperate to link up with the London club.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, United could hijack his signing at the 11th hour.

In a piece about six alternative signings Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make instead of Sancho, they report:

"MEN Sport reported earlier in the year Havertz is keen on a move to the Premier League this summer and playing in the Champions League would be crucial in deciding his next destination.

Havertz could be heading to Man Utd

"The 20-year-old looks to have played his final match for Bayer Leverkusen after they crashed out of the Europa League on Monday night, and United could still hijack Chelsea's proposed move for him.

"Havertz comes with the added bonus of being able to play on the wing or through the middle, but his massive price tag means he could only sign for United as a replacement for Sancho rather than as an accompaniment."

GIVEMESPORT's Ollie Browning says:

That's a pretty massive claim from the Manchester Evening News. Havertz looks dead set on joining Chelsea, so if United hijack a move, it would be a huge coup.

Solskjaer could hijack a move

After pipping the Blues to a third-place finish in the Premier League this season, if Solskjaer starts hijacking Frank Lampard's signings, it would be a huge statement of intent.

Let's see what happens.
