Leeds United are preparing for a historic season.

The Whites are returning to the Premier League after a lengthy spell away which amounted to 16 years.

They've had their struggles during that time, including dropping into the third tier of English football.

But thankfully for supporters they're now back where they belong.

Leeds are without a doubt one of the biggest names in English football and it seems only right to see them competing with the biggest and best week in, week out next term.

Marcelo Bielsa was a game-changing appointment at Elland Road and helped them cruise to promotion last term.

But while their dominance was clear in the Championship, it's set to be a completely different situation this time around.

Victor Orta and his recruitment team will be pulling out all of the stops to strengthen their side before the league's opener in under five weeks' time, but several players may also have to move on.

According to the latest reports, one of them could be a player who's regarded as one of Bielsa's core set-up.

Reports from Football Insider have claimed that Kiko Casilla is looking for a move away.

The Spaniard has fallen out of favour at Elland Road after being handed a lengthy ban after being found guilty of racist abuse last term.

While Casilla was eligible to return before the end of last term, young goalkeeper Illan Meslier kept his place in the starting XI while the 33-year-old had to settle for a place on the bench.

The former Real Madrid man will have been hoping to force his way back into the side, but an update earlier this week suggested that he'd have to settle for a place on the bench.

Now, it's been claimed that Casilla will push for a move to Spain as he seeks regular first team football.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

I don't think that many would see this as a surprise.

Kiko Casilla's reputation took something of a battering after being found guilty of making racist remarks.

Leeds United clearly made a decision to use Illan Meslier as the club's number one goalkeeper at the back end of last season - something that seemed like the correct call.

Given the Premier League's strong stance against racism, Casilla's place in the Leeds team almost seems untenable and that means that it's nearly guaranteed that he'll move on.

The 33-year-old is still an excellent goalkeeper and will have a successful career elsewhere, I just can't see it being at Elland Road.
