Manchester United are still attempting to sign Jadon Sancho.

The Borussia Dortmund star has been mooted as one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top targets in the summer transfer window.

United are keen to bring him in to add some support to the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood at Old Trafford.

Dortmund had set the club a deadline of Monday to agree a fee for Sancho, but that date has obviously passed.

Sancho, as a result, is currently training with the Bundesliga giants in Switzerland ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, has claimed that the England international will not be leaving this summer, with the club planning for the campaign with him in the squad.

But it does not appear that United are giving up.

Sancho, of course, scored 20 goals and registered 20 assists in all competitions in the 2019/20 season, and is widely regarded as one of the finest young players in the world.

The Daily Mirror claims that Solskjaer’s side are so keen, they have shelved all other transfer business to focus on signing the forward.

They also want to sign a defender this summer but plans to that end are currently on pause.

Dortmund are said to be willing to sell Sancho for £100 million but it is a fee that United are not currently willing to meet.

And they are now going to try to convince the German club to sell as the window continues.

Sancho, though, may have to hand in a transfer request, per the report, to make any deal happen in this window.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This isn’t really a difficult one for United.

There is a certain fee that they need to pay to bring him in from the German club but they are clearly unwilling to do so.

Thus, they face being disappointed unless they just pay up.

One can understand United’s reticence; they are operating in a post-COVID world, and it cannot be easy to find such cash.

But the equation is simple: Pay up and secure Sancho or don’t and see him stay in Germany.
