Cristiano Ronaldo’s time with Juventus could be coming to an end this summer.
After just two seasons with the Italian club, the 35-year-old is reportedly eager for a new challenge following Juve’s disappointing end to the 2019/20 campaign.
Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for the Portuguese superstar and they’re one of the few clubs who could probably afford Ronaldo’s enormous wages.
He reportedly pockets around €23m-a-year with the Bianconeri, a substantial amount more than any other Juve player.
Andrea Pirlo is keen to get Ronaldo’s enormous salary off the books this summer and abide by the Portuguese’s reported desire to leave Turin.
“The reason why Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to PSG is not so much that PSG are thinking of getting him, it is because Jorge Mendes has been given instructions to find a team for Ronaldo,” Balague told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“We’ve seen this in the last six months, he was linked to Real Madrid. They said no chance, he’s not coming back.
“And there’s been talks about the MLS because Juventus want to get rid of that wage.
“It is as drastic as that. He’s been offered everywhere, including Barcelona.
“I’m not sure if they can get rid of him easily [because] with the kind of money he still earns – 23million euros net – that he was earning at Real Madrid and I think he equalled those wages when he went to Juventus.
“Who is going to pay that kind of money?”
Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the same team?! That would just be too much to handle.
Sadly, it’s unlikely to happen given Barcelona’s financial situation. The club aren’t exactly flush with cash right now and there’s no way they could accommodate both Ronaldo and Messi’s wages.
