The Champions League mini-tournament continues on Friday night with a blockbuster quarter-final tie.Bayern Munich and Barcelona face off for a spot in the last four. It's Lionel Messi vs Robert Lewandowski. Antoine Griezmann vs Serge Gnabry. Manuel Neuer vs Marc-André ter Stegen. There are match-ups all over the pitch, it's going to be nothing short of epic, we're sure of that. Bayern are favourites going into the game, having smashed past Chelsea in the previous round, while delivering a number of impressive performances throughout the competition.Add in the fact that Hans-Dieter Flick's side have won every single one of their last 18 games, it seems that no one, not even Barca, can stop them. Things then, are very different from the last time the two sides met back in the 2014/15 season. Messi needs to repeat his heroics tonightIt was Messi who ran the show five years ago, scoring two important goals as Barca ran out 5-3 winners on aggregate in the semi-finals before going on to lift the trophy. To stand any chance of progressing past Bayern this year, the Blaugrana will need their star man to step up again. But that will be tough, considering Messi put in one of his greatest ever performances against the Bundesliga side five years ago. Just check out his highlights from the game Barca won 3-0:

That's real Messi madness right there. He was untouchable that night, no wonder his highlights are going viral ahead of tonight's match.

The Argentine's dribbling was absolutely exceptional - Jerome Boateng wasn't the only player he famously sent for a hotdog that night.

His passing was on another level too. Just look at that link up with Neymar for the assist... oh how Barca fans would love to have the Brazilian back.

Then there's Messi's finishing. He scored two goals vs Bayern and was absolutely clinical. What a performance.

Messi was clinical vs Bayern

More of the same tonight please, Lionel.
